Installing windows server 2008 just like installing other operating systems but windows server 2008 reduces user interaction while installing. It is just like unattended installation. At starting you just give inputs after windows server 2008 never ask user to give inputs like all other operation systems. Installation of windows server 2008 contains following steps.
1. First of all you should require DVD drive and make it as your first boot device.
2. After loading all files first it will ask for media like language , time and currency. keyboard.
3. Next you will get installation screen, in this screen you will get install now option and repair option for repair your windows server 2008, and know more about installation option.
4. Next it prompts for product key you can skip this step
5. In this step it will prompt for opetaing system selection. One important thing to tell here is in all other os you will need seperate boot disk for different types of version but in windows server 2008 all versions will come in only one boot disk. Like Enterprise edition, standard edition , core installation or full installation. You can select desired os edition here. next you need to agree licence agriment.
6. Next you will get installation types like advanced and custom and in which partiotion you want to install.
7. once you selected partition and start installation again you no need to give any inputs till installation completes. Installation process contains following steps
- Copying files
- Extracting files
- Installing features
- Installing Updates
- Completing Installation
8. After sucessfull installation it will prompt for set administrator password.
All above steps included in installing Windows server 2008.
Here one more thing i want to discuss with you people...basicall all earlier version of operating system uses NTLDR to load os but in windwos server 2008 it uses BCD instead of NTLDR. BCD stands for Boot Configuration Data
